Howard is a successful real estate entrepreneur and formerly Co-CEO of The Sitzer Group, a privately owned property developer and manager. His proven management acumen combined with exemplary personal skills has built a first class reputation of sustained success over many years. He helped to build and develop his family business into a highly respected property developer and manager of shopping centers, before becoming a resident of the Cayman Islands and co-founding HHG to focus on the global hospitality industry. After finishing business school, and before joining his family company, Howard spent several years as a marketing executive with Colgate Palmolive and Campbell Soup. Howard was born in Toronto.
Michael is one of the most experienced executives in the global hospitality industry. He has led the development and operation of over 200 projects on five continents, maintaining close relations with leading hotel, restaurant, entertainment and fashion brands. Michael has chaired both listed and private companies and was formerly Chairman of the Wilkings Hospitality Group, President of Ministry of Sound International, CEO of Juliana’s International and CEO of Leisure Resources Group. Michael has lived and worked in London, New York, Tokyo, Dubai and Toronto, and is now a resident of the Cayman Islands. He earned an honors degree from the University of Leicester and completed post- graduate studies at the London School of Economics. Michael was born in London.
Julian trained as an accountant before entering the financial services industry over 30 years ago. He worked for some of Europe’s largest financial companies, including Prudential, and has experience in Insurance, Investment, and Structured Risk Transfer. Before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2004, he was Director of Strategic Partnerships in the UK at AXA Life, part of the world’s largest Financial Services Company, and was responsible for devising and implementing joint ventures with some of the world’s major financial institutions including National Australia Bank. Typically these were multi-jurisdictional structures making use of offshore locations. In the Cayman Islands, he set up a specialist provider of Risk Management, Investment, and Corporate Structuring solutions for publicly and privately owned businesses, including BNY Mellon. Julian moved back to Europe in 2013 and provides corporate structuring advice to new or developing companies, including working with Capita to integrate several Lloyd’s of London brokerages, and taking an energy company to the main board of the London Stock Exchange. He is also a director of a number of hedge funds and privately held investment companies.
Jonathan is a seasoned executive in real estate development and finance with over twenty-five years of experience, most recently serving as COO and CFO of Vista Development Ltd., the developer of the W-branded resort currently under development in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Previously he was Managing Director and CFO for the West Caicos Reserve projects, a $1B enterprise that was to include the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve, villas, condominiums, single-family estate homes, cottages, marina townhomes, a world-class marina facility. Jonathan is also CEO of Exquisite Caribbean Resorts LLC, the master developer of the historic UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Jalousie Estate located in St Lucia. He has an extensive background in the investment banking industry, and worked at LF Rothschild, Drexel Burnham Lambert, and Donaldson, Lufkin, and Jenrette, Inc. He co-founded the Grand Charter Group and its broker/dealer subsidiary, Prime Charter, Ltd., and was Chairman and CEO of Global Capital Markets, LLC, a full-service brokerage firm. Jonathan graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BSEE, and Suma Cum Laude from Syracuse University with an MSCE.
Jim has been involved in commercial development internationally, as both a developer and consultant, for 30 years. After graduating from McGill University in Montreal, Jim spent ten years in the advertising business, working at Ogilvy & Mather and J. Walter Thompson. He moved to Australia in 1987 and managed a hotel design company that was involved in resorts and hotels across the country. Relocating to Singapore in 1990, Jim founded the Asia office of Design International, a commercial development consultancy, and advised on more than 50 large retail mixed-use projects throughout the region. In 1996 Jim became Director of Development, based in Hong Kong and Tokyo, for TrizecHahn, a $6bn NYSE-listed commercial development company, and formed a JV with Seibu Department Stores. In 2006 Jim led development for IMC Group of Singapore and Shanghai and oversaw a large township project in Chengdu and a mixed-use complex in Qingdao. Most recently, Jim was Regional Director of Asia for Forrec, based in Shanghai, and involved in many large integrated resort and theme park projects across Asia.
James is a non-executive director of HHG, having accumulated a lifetime of diverse experience in financial services internationally. He lives and works in the Cayman Islands in a senior management position for a leading international bank. James previously worked for Coutts Bank, Axa and Barclays Bank. James has held senior positions in financial management as well as sales and marketing and holds a Financial Planning Certificate from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK. James was born in Scotland.
Darren is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of global professional experience in project development, hotel/resort preopening, operations, and asset management throughout the United States, Caribbean, and the Middle East. Most recently serving as the Santa Barbara Beach and Golf Resort General Manager for Santa Barbara Plantation Curacao, the developer of the resort, marina, golf and luxury real estate. Previously he was Area General Manager for Nofa Resort in Saudi Arabia, a $1.5B development which included two luxury resorts, an African game reserve, golf course, equestrian center, horse track, and estate villas. He also served as CEO for the Amber Dune Resort and Spa, Dominican Republic; Managing Director for the Hartling Group, Turks & Caicos; and General Manager for Conrad Hotels and Resorts, Egypt. Darren served on the Board of Directors for the Curacao Hotel and Tourism Association, as well as board member for the Cairo American College in Cairo, Egypt. A native of Canada, Mr. Law began his career with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. He is a graduate the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Jocelyn joins HHG with over 10 years of managerial experience in hospitality. Coming to us from New York City, Jocelyn is responsible for the full operation of the Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman, and works closely with all departments to ensure the property is in full working order and achieves the maximum room and F&B revenue. In addition, Jocelyn has been featured in Passport Magazine and TravelAge West highlighting her concierge expertise within New York City.
Marco has been appointed food and beverage director and will lead the strategy, planning and development of HHG’s various dining outlets. An internationally experienced expert in high-end food and beverage planning and operations, as well as restaurant and hotel openings, Mauthner’s comprehensive experience includes working at the Melia and Hilton Hotels in Vienna, the London Hilton, La Cigale in Doha, and Trader Vic’s restaurants in Shanghai, San Francisco and Abu Dhabi. Mauthner holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from the International Hospitality School in Retz, Austria.
Paul holds a BA (Hons) from Exeter University, is a Chartered Accountant, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants. Before university Paul served as an officer in the British Army for five years, serving operationally abroad twice. He has over twenty years of professional accounting and management experience with a focus on financial services and hospitality. Paul has a variety of experience from large, multinational fund administration, to establishing and managing bank and trust businesses, property management, and hospitality operations. Paul’s responsibilities have included financial accounting, directing operations, compliance and risk management. Before becoming a resident of the Cayman Islands, Paul worked in the UK for Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen.
Veer serves as Vice President of Finance of Howard Hospitality Group. He has dedicated his career to ensuring the financial viability of complex, high value projects and operations within the hotel and condo-resort industry. Over the course of his career he has served at the helm of financial operations for luxury resorts in several countries. Veer began his financial career as an auditor at KPMG in Mauritius, before joining Kerzner Hotels in 1989. Since then he never left the hospitality industry, and his career has spanned across the hotel, casino, and condo-hotel sectors from Africa to North America and the Caribbean. Veer is a Certified Management Accountant (USA).
Marlon is a specialist in hotel and hospitality information technology and systems, and holds a BSc in IT Management and an MSc in Computing Innovation, both from the University of the West Indies in Barbados. Prior to joining the HHG team, Marlon was the Information Technology Manager for the Bougainvillea Beach Resort in Barbados, and had previously worked for a specialist computer and information technology consulting organization. Marlon was born in Barbados.
Diandra brings almost a decade and a half of dedicated Caribbean hospitality experience to the group. A native of Jamaica, Diandra will have the responsibility of overseeing a team of on-property and consulting representatives on the resort’s brand positioning, marketing, sales and public relations initiatives. Prior to her appointment, Diandra spent ten years in various sales and marketing positions at the legendary Half Moon resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Most recently she was Assistant General Manager at The Cliff Hotel in Negril, Jamaica in charge of operations, sales and marketing. Under her leadership, the resort was named the Caribbean’s Most Luxurious Resort for 2017 by TripAdvisor. Her expertise includes brand direction, media relations, wholesale and travel industry relations, event planning, concept and creative development and digital marketing.
Katie Joins HHG with over 8 years of Real Estate management experience. She was born and raised in Ontario, Canada and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Real Estate and Housing management. Katie has worked within the residential, commercial and retail sectors including sales, leasing and property management. Prior to joining the HHG team, Katie was responsible for managing a 650,000 sqft A class shopping centre with over 160 branded retailers. Her role focused on maximizing revenues, overseeing the major capital plan and managing relationships between customers, retailers and contractors.
Eric serves as Vice President of Operation Finance for Howard Hospitality Group. He started his career at Price Waterhouse in Calgary Canada and since then has spent over 30 years in the Hospitality industry having worked for both private and branded hotels, such as Fairmont, Hilton, Sheraton and Wyndham. During this time, Eric has lived in Canada, Southern United States, and throughout the Caribbean. While in the position of Senior Director of Operations Finance at Hilton, Eric was instrumental in setting up and implementing a centralized back office accounting system for all the Caribbean and Latin American Hotels. He was also involved in several major projects including the construction of the 503 room Hilton Morumbi in Sao Paulo Brazil.

Carleene Salmon is our Senior HR Manager. Carleene has over 10 years of Human Resources experience, 5 of which have been in a leadership role. Carleene is a Human Resources/Training Manager with a strong knowledge in recruitment, employee relations, leadership, employee development, training, payroll, benefits and workers’ compensation. She has provided Human Resources services to public agencies and the hotel industry. Carleene’s role as a Human Resources leader in major corporations in Grand Cayman and England, included the successful building of the Human Resources department goals and practices to be in alignment with business goals and objective. She was instrumental in leading Human Resources to be a strategic and successful entity being managed on its own. As a result of this accomplishment, Carleene was able to assist an entire department through many organizational and company changes. Carleene is clever in identifying areas in need of improvement with the vision to develop and implement lucrative action plans. Carleene has completed Human Resources Management and Hospitality & Tourism Management. She has a Certified Management Professional designation she also has a professional certification in QSP Interview Analyst (Talent Plus) ADP PC Payroll certification, and Leadership Management Certification. She is a member of local (Cayman Islands Society) Human Resources organizations and has been very prominent in the Human Resources community.
Dylan was brought on to oversee HHG’s signature global steakhouse concept YARA. Most recently, Benoit served as the Executive Chef for Market Street Group where he oversaw six diverse restaurant concepts here in Grand Cayman. Prior to that, Dylan served as Sous Chef at Osetra Bay Restaurant, a fine dining destination located in Morgan’s Harbor district of Grand Cayman, and spent years studying and working in his home country of Canada under Chefs like Mark McEwan. Originally from Barrie, Ontario, Benoit has travelled extensively throughout North America, Central America and South America as well as the Caribbean, Asia and some of Europe. He has studied cuisines and cultures from around the globe and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the culinary team.
Fiona is responsible for the day-to-day management of HHG’s Grand Cayman properties and their staff. With more than 20 years of hotel experience, Leslie has held positions with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in a variety of locations, including Maui, Lake Tahoe, Grand Cayman and Carmel, California. She also held general manager roles at boutique luxury hotels in California, including Big Sur’s Post Ranch Inn. Leslie’s passion for hospitality extends into the local community and she has served on executive leadership committees for local chambers of commerce, as well as local charities such as the Boys & Girls Club of Monterey County. She holds a bachelor’s degree with a dual major in tourism marketing and Spanish from Niagara University in New York.
